Spotlight on Goalies

Saturday's game between the Kings Mutual Wildcats and Bubba Rays Gulls featured Colin Beckwith for the Wildcats and Logan MacEwen for the Gulls.  Both were outstanding in nets, making a number of key saves as the Bubba Rays prevailed by a 2-1 score.

The same Saturday in Truro, the Bearcats Luke Melanson had thirty- six shots fired his way and the Hurricane's Aaron Mantle had twenty- four shots in keeping the score down in a 3-1 Western win.

Sunday action at the Halifax Forum between the Accel Hawks and the Bubba Rays Gulls again had stalwart goal tending from Logan MacEwen for the Rays and Reilly Pickard for the Hawks.  The Hawks hit an empty night with time running out in the game with Reilly Pickard recording the shutout and Logan MacEwen allowing only one goal in a 2-0 win for the Hawks.

For first year goalie Reilly Pickard, this was his fourth shut out of the season and for the week of January 23-29, he is "Player of the Week" in the NSMBHL.
